Dr. Thomas Paul Williams

Dr. Thomas Paul Williams accepted Christ in
1956. He was called to the ministry in 1975 and ordained into the ministry in
1983. He is currently the full time pastor and founder of Agape Storge
Christian Center, Greenville, Mississippi (founded in 1984), known as one of the
largest churches in the city.
With a heart’s desire for Believers to comprehend who they are in Christ
Jesus and the terms of their covenant, Dr. Williams instructs by precept and
example; the unadulterated, ever living, all powerful seed of the Word of God.
The interdenominational, interracial church consists of over 600 members and is
one of the fastest growing churches in the “Greater Delta Area”. The church has
purchased over 32 acres of “prime land”, where they plan to construct a Worship
Center, Family Life Center and a Christian School housing grades K-12 and is
presently negotiating their existing place of Worship, which measures 16,000
square feet.
Dr. Williams graduated from Coleman High School, Greenville, MS, May
1964: Mississippi Valley State University, B. S. Degree Elementary Education, G.
P. A. 3.6, Itta Bena, MS, May 1968: Delta State University, M. A. Degree
Administration and Supervision, Secondary Education, G. P. A. 3.9, Cleveland,
MS, August 1983; and Mississippi State University, Administration and
Supervision Certification in Elementary Education, Dean’s List, Starkville, MS,
Fall 1985.
He is the former Principal for Irene Weddington Elementary School, 1989-92, and
Lucy Webb Elementary School, 1986-89, Greenville, MS. He served as Assistant
Principal at Grenada High School, June 1985 - July 1986, Grenada, MS; worked as
an 8th Grade Math Teacher at Coleman Jr. High School, August 1973 -
May 1985, Greenville, MS; taught at McEvans Elementary School, September 1968 -
May 1973, Shaw, MS; and was Administrative Assistant for the Washington
Issaquena Sharkey Community Action (WWISCA) Summer Youth Program from 1975-1984.
He has received many honors and served on several committees including: Student
Government Association Vice-President; Outstanding Young Men of America;
Washington County Ministerial Alliance; National Association of Supervision and
Curriculum Development; Parent Teacher Association and International
. On June 16, 2001, he was presented with an honorary degree of
Doctor of Divinity by the Triune Biblical University founded in 1981 in
Longview, Washington. This was an astounding achievement as he was one of five
recipients to be selected from several hundred applicants throughout the nation.
He married the former Gwendolyn M. Stewart on December 20, 1970. They have been
blessed with two children Shauna, and Kendra and a niece, Valerie Buckner.
Dr. Williams continues to speak at various schools within the state of
Mississippi both public and private to elementary, middle and high school level
students on their ancestral history according to the Bible, how to overcome past
mistakes and/or present environmental issues to experience a better life, and
how to fulfill their God-given purpose. On a consistent basis, Dr. Williams is
called on to minister to victims of traumatic death and domestic violence. He
is also requested to minister prayer at various social and political events at
home and abroad. On several occasions, Dr. Williams has been invited by the
State Representative to render the devotion for their opening session.
A long-time Administrator, family man, servant of God, and friend to the
community; Dr. Williams is an accomplished man who is constantly striving for
God’s Best in life and gives God all the glory for that which he has been
blessed with thus far. |
